Ok, so knowing my room needs treatment, and as soon as Im done workin 70-80 hr weeks, it will get it. (and yes, its still unfinished and bare, needs lotsa work still)
But just today, i walked up to my processor and as I stood right inbetween the 802s... wow, listen to that bass, and as I walk away to the seating position, about 7 feet away from the speakers.... it almost disapears!
So now is this telling me I need some bass traps? Are we talking cylinders here? Placed behind the speakers?
I have plans made up for some tiles to be made for the reflection points on the walls, and some corner treatments for the ceiling.. but I keep picking up on people using cylinders or columns for bass traps... These are to prevent destructive interference at certain frequencies correct? Thus you actually hear more bass, as its not canceling out.
Anyone feel free to comment. What and where would you start?
Current pic just taken, sorry for the bad quality, quick snap. ops:
EDIT: just realized this should have gone in spaced out, my bad.
