Has anyone used True RTA software to tweak their HT? I sprung for the level 4 program just to play with it, and now that the novelty is starting to wear off, I was wondering if I can use it for anything productive. Thanks.

A good RTA is always a neet thing to have around. I use SMAART Live a lot. For HT some of the things that I use it for are:
1. SPL readings
2. Setting the Sub's X-Over
3. Flattning the system
I am good at hearing what I like and don't like but I am not that good to go....gee that is 500hz, or 1.2 khz. So seeing the graph helps me out a lot.
I will admit that I use the RTA more for live rigs than HT but it is still used a lot.
Having it around is not a bad idea.

I mainly use it for speaker building but it does a great job for speaker placement and getting the sub woofer in the correct place and frequency. I went with level three.

If I measure the other speaker in room, it measures almost the same.
If I measure both speakers at the same time, I get destructive interference from around... -

I’ve read other threads about needing a pre-amp for the RTA mics out there. I’ve seen the ROLLS MP13 mini-mic pre-amp recommended. ThomasW has good writeups on whats needed for doing RTA stuff for the DEQ/FBD. Why not use the Behringer UB802 mini mixer. It has two XLR mic inputs with phantom power?... -
