    SSP-600 button O-ring replacement

The O-rings on my "Stand-by - Menu - Mute" buttons were dry-rotted. Takes a little time but not too difficult to change.

The power supply, the smaller transformer and a smaller board all needed to be removed (the parts outlined in blue). They need to be removed in order to make room to get a small screwdriver in there. There are two screws on the bottom of the screen board that you cannot access without removal of the listed parts. The screen needs to be removed; it will be difficult to remove/re-install the o-ring from the 'Mute' button if the screen is left in place. It will help if you have long skinny fingers like I do!

I bought some 5/16" OD x 3/16" ID o-rings at my local Ace Hardware.

Sounds like a fun weekend project. Did you get the amp back together and take it for a test drive now?

No problem; but the indicator light (LED) on the power button has failed. Actually, it was starting to fail long before I changed the o-rings. The LED would flicker occasionally but finally failed a few months ago. So I need to pull the board and see what's cooking.

While the Classe is down I picked up an older Cary Audio Cinema 11a off Facebook dirt cheap. Very nice processor that sound fantastic. I like the 'simplicity' too.
