CDP-102 problem

A friend of mine has CDP-102 with the problem reading DVD and DVD-Audio discs (after inserting the dics display says "please insert a disc"). CD playback works just fine. He has the latest firmware and MPEG software upgrade.

Just to mention that before upgrading MPEG, everything worked with no problems of any kind.

Is it possible to DOWNGRADE software or do you have some solution on this case?

You can try to re-flash it again. That is possible.
Otherwise it does sound like a service "thing"..

But, i dont think there is a firmware problem. the optical mechanisma teac dv28sl is as shit and fails

I think firmware is not the problem, but the MPEG version is. Can I downgrade MPEG software version?
