    Question for CA-5200

    Is it 200 W X 5 class A or Class D and what is the difference? :P :P

    Sorry you have a new CA5200 or??

    D = digital, chip or so like that

    A = pur transistor,real power

        Class A/B, the first 30 watts (8R) are class A - if I understand their blurb correctly.

            That makes it a Class AB amp. All AB amps are Class A for some minority portion of their output. It is determined by the amount of bias applied to the output stages.

                Is the class AB amp sounds better than the class D amp?
                Is it true that class AB amp is hotter when it runs than the class D and uses a lot more electricity?

                  Yes and yes.

                  Class D uses high frequency switching technology, so its not a "classic" amplifier design. Some people are OK with that, others are not.
