    CDP-102 VS CDT-300 Disc transport

    Hi there

    I am going to buy one of those... CDP-102 OR the cdt 300

    Classé claims it would be better if I buy the CDT-300 and let my ssp-800 decode the signal to analogic... Means that I have to digitally transfert audio signal from cdt-300 to ssp-800...

    Anyone can comment?

    102 = 4500$
    CDT-300 = 5000

    Thanks

      If you can use the video scaling capabilities of the CDT then the extra $500 is worth it to have a one box solution. As for audio, using either the 102 or the 300 as a transport (to the SSP-800 for conversion) will be identical but the 102 will fall short if used as a player (converter).

        I own a CDT 300 as well, and I learned this cannot play multichannel DVD audio, since it lacks multichannel output, unlike CDP-300. Just so you know.

          The problem is circumvented with the SSP-800 and an HDMI connection to your CDT-300. :T
