    SSP 300 and HD/BluRay

I still wait for the SSP800 to hopefully connect HD equipment directly via HDMI:-))
In the meantime I tried to connect my new HD DVD player via the multichannel analog inputs of my SSP300. The manual of the SSP300 is very brief.

Has anybody deeper experience with the analog multichannel inputs of the SSP300?

The manual tells me: "direct pass through". What does this mean exactly? Which settings are over ruled and which not? What about the manual settings of speaker distance, cross over frequency etc?? Do they still work when the analog multi channel selected?

    Thanks for help:-))

It means that no signal processing whatsoever occurs when the 7.1 analog inputs and outputs are utilized.

      Thanks Rebelman:-)
What do you mean in detail with "no signal processing"? Sorry, I am not a audio specialist, but does this mean, that my speaker placement settings (volume adjustments and cross over frequency for sub) are also not considered and just bypassed?

It means no A/D and D/A conversions, no distance and delay configurations and no crossover and trim level settings will be processed on the analog signal and no post processing overlays like Dolby Prologic will be applied either. The only control you'll have is over gain (volume). Everything else in the signal chain is "bypassed".

            I don't get it.
How do I connect/activate the analog 7.1 input in the menu?

I just bought a Toshiba HD-EP35 and connect the 5.1 output to the 7.1 input to my SSP600. But I don't succed to get any sound ops: 8O

The manual for the SSP600 dosen't explain this, and the setting for the Toshiba is very easy.

Have the lastest software and the only analog bypass I can find is for the balanced input

            Any suggestions?

Never mind, apparently input 11 was pre configured for this.
