Long IC or Speaker cable?

It was interesting to read the thread in balanced connections.

What are the opinions of ppl over long balance IC with short speaker cable and long speaker cable with short IC, price of cable being equal (of course).

Long IC, Short speaker IMO.

This will be especialy so when using balanced.

With most pro installations you will see the amps standing next to the speakers.

Something to do with high current being more prone to loss than low current, but maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in.

I spent the extra money on balanced cables. I had to buy 40 ft cables, which were not cheap, but I did it to put my front amp close to the speakers. My rack is in the back of the room. I figured it would make the biggest difference for 2 channel, so I didnt worry about surround speakers. Just l/c/r.
