Specifically looking at the low frequency performance, these things are pretty impressive for $130. Only 6.5" right now, would love to see some 8"s. https://audioxpress.com/article/test...rth-audio-line https://audioxpress.com/article/test...rth-audio-line

I saw these, thought they were interesting, but my standard for comparison at that size is PuriFi. They are in different price categories, and I think they will be useful for some folks.
And like a lot of 6.5"/7" woofers, the problem for low frequency performance is not so much the motor, but suspension compliance- just like the Anarchy's. Now, if you're gunning more for high linearity in a reasonable range of Xmax, say, 5-7 mm, then they become more interesting. Like the Anarchy's.

I had forgot those are still available at DIYSG. And half the price of the MISCO. Voice Coil tested the original Anarchy also and it does perform basically identical to the MISCO at low frequencies. As an anchor to a 3-way, I'm considering this vs a Dayton RS225. Much better sensitivity with the Dayton. But man that low distortion of the Anarchy.- Bottom

Just received a reply from MISCO that they plan to introduce (no ETA) an 8" version of the above. I can see a lot of 3-ways anchored by something like that!- Bottom

For midrange / 2-way performance the Misco appears much improved over the old Anarchy. Better motor, frequency response, lower inductance, lower 3rd order distortion.
Here's the old Anarchy Test Bench result for comparison:

Voice Coil has tested the Dayton E180HE: https://audioxpress.com/article/test...io-epique-line- Bottom

Results kind if like what we expected based on other 3rd party testing, but the surprise to me was poorer Kippel results compared with the E140HE. Have to wonder if it’s a quality control issue; OTOH, I’m quite at a odds with the idea that they thought this was a suitable part for a two way, given the harmonic distortion below 1kHz. it really is a subwoofer driver, but the linearity in that range seems compromised compared with the E140HE.the AudioWorx

I seen some simpler 3rd-party measurements that also showed high midrange distortion, so I don't think it was a defective sample issue. Still, as the bottom of a 3-way the Klippel results do suggest it might be better than most drivers regarding force factor modulation distortion that Purifi has written about. I'd still take the MISCO 6502. Or the upcoming MISCO 8" with the same motor.- Bottom
