OK, this is not some kind of joke- I have an original Schitt Freya Preamp, hardly used, and two original Vidar stereo/mono amplifiers, turned on and checked once. NOS, essentially, in original shipping boxes from Schitt. And they're available on a first come, first served basis, for anyone with at least 5 posts or a registered forum member for a month or more. I'd prefer to say one unit per member, and if you can donate for shipping, that would be a plus.
Sad story, this gear was bought for setting up a low key music system in the living room back in Danville, cut short due to Beverly's illness and passing. Very decent pieces for their day and age.
The Freya is a dual mode preamp, with a high precision relay switched volume control and both balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs. It can operate as a precision passive preamp, or an active tube preamp, running on some meaty 6SN7's, tubes I used to experiment with back in my childhood (10-11).
And the back panel:
I'm a balanced mode kind of guy, so this was a natural for me, a balanced mode tube preamp! That also works pure passive- like another preamp I used to use for all my speaker testing "back in the day". Now I use a Freya S for the primary speaker testing setup.
These are original Vidar amplifiers- they are a stereo Amp, but can work as a balanced mono in the same way some Aragon stereo amps could, by plugging in a balanced signal input, and the two phases are used to drive the individual channels, with the output taken across the positives.
Note, the Vidar and the Freya come with either a flat black finish or this brushed aluminum; the ones I have and are offering up are the more expensive brushed aluminum.
Any takers?
Happy Holidays to one and to all!
