The Big Unit not quite completed.

Unfortunately there's no way to electrically couple the transformers together. So it's use multiple small ones, or pop for something like the $250 Plitron

Thomas, are you going to start a Big Unit thread? I don't want to "pile on" in this one if you are. I'm pretty certain my new soldering station will show up this week (Saturday birthday ) and I'll start ordering parts at that point.

I got sidetracked putting removing an old spa and it's decking, pouring a new concrete pad, burying a 220V line, etc, etc. So the Big Unit sort of got set aside. It's 90% finished so there's plenty to discuss.

The unit is a balanced power transformer. Subs (at least the one's I build) would be little too expensive to ship around the country .... :wink:

UPS picked up the unit about an hour ago so it's on it's way to Houston

Damn! My system has been half torn apart since I've gotten it and I never have done a true evaluation.
