Is there a FAQ for easy stuff?

Is there a Newbie document/FAQ for DIY HT techniques? If not, I'd like to solder some connectors on my speaker wire, and I don't think it'd be any big deal, but I want to make sure I'm not missing any tricks or ideas. Thanks!

The trick is to have the tip on one side of the wire, and apply the solder to the opposite side when the wire has properly heated. This applies to ANY thing being soldered, components on circuit boards or speaker cables.
