Grill magnet too strong?

Is it possible to put too strong of a magnet for mounting the grills into a smaller cabinet?

I have some neo magnets that I want to use when I build my Micro-Statements that have a holding power of about 10 pounds each...

I agree with Steve. I've been using neo magnets for at least 10 years. The first time I used them I recessed 4 magnets in the baffle and also used 4 magnets recessed into the backs of the grille boards. Since then, though, I only use them in the backs of the grille boards, locating them to align with the heads of some of the drivers' mounting screws/bolts.

And if you can work it in, you can hide the magnets in the baffle so they can't be seen if you take the grills off.

Thanks for the reply guys! I suspected it was OK, I just wanted to make sure.

I plan on mounting the magnets under the veneer, and adding some metal standoffs on my grills that line up with the magnets. I've seen some commercial variants that have standoff grills, and I like that look...
