    any outdoor designs recommended?

    i had a set of modified Dayton B652's that spent over 4 years (summers & harsh winters) outside on my porch.
    amazing that they lasted so long considering how cruel i was to them.

    any suggestions on a DIY replacement?

      Considering that's an inside speaker that's pretty amazing. You know though, with PE having them for $39.80 for the pair, you would be hard pressed to beat the price going DIY. Unless of course you are looking for a project ......

          I just bought a pair of Dayton outdoor speakers... and I'm trying to figure out the signal chain. Should everything just be inside and then route the speaker wires outside? Plan now is to use Zone 2 from my XMC-1 and then use a chip amp to power them. What's your setup ahead of the speakers themselves?
