Ca18rnx & er18rnx....

hi all,
in the web site of kudos loudspeakers have see a strange thing.
in their top product kudos c1 http://www.kudosaudio.com/loudspeakers/c1 they use ca18rnx
and i cheaper product kudos x2 http://www.kudosaudio.com/loudspeakers/x3 they use er18rnx plus very ceaper seas tweeter

why this ?

er18 maybe better then ca18 ?

The ER18 is > than the CA18. One is a newer product after which SEAS started to include shorting rings in some of their prestige drivers.

my question is : why they used it in their cheaper project ?

Home-hifi is not a rational business, in technical way. Obviously the manufacturer has bought some quantity of CA drivers (or finished C series speakers) and must get rid of them. Obviously X serieas also are a newer design
