    Point Source 6"-8" as an all-purpose speaker.

    I'm quite tempted to try out either the dayton or tang band point source drivers for a new build but would they be decent, not only as a music playback speaker, but also for television/home theater when paired with a subwoofer? I'm sure they can cover the right frequency range, but I'm worried about direcitonality. Do they have a narrow sweet spot compared to a normal MT driver setup? I'll start looking around on here now for various builds utilizing these drivers. I'm borrowing a maligned 10-y-o PC, since I don't have mine on me, so that might take a while.

      I would lean towards a coax as the Dayton 8, and any other 8" full range have very small sweet spots.

          Me too. Might be the right time to try the new Seas Prestige midrange Coax, if you're willing to use it with a woofer.

              Alright, thanks guys. Maybe It's time to revisit some of the classic builds here for my living room and save the point-source speakers for a music only room.

              Just got a new house so it needs new speakers.
