    GURU Question on speaker Angle to be on Axis ??

    A speaker that is to low ,or to high to be directly on Axis ,... could it be slightly angled (up or down) to be on Axis at listening position Without sacraficing SQ ??

    Yes it can but it is a sacrifice. It's never Ideal to place speakers in less then ideal positions.

      Don't many speakers ave to angle to tweeter down to be on axis with ear level ? ...Like the (Wilson Audio Alexandria's) ??

        yes, & many monitoring studios have their monitors high above, Soffit mounted & angled down.
        the short answer it will depend on many things, however it's certainly workable.

          The (Ribbon) is 3.5" higher than ear height , I calculated i need an angle of just 1.5 degrees to obtain On Axis at MLP (11 feet distance ) ??

            Is it 3.5 inches to the bottom of the ribbon or 3.5 inches to the middle of it?

            Are these already built, or do you have a test box setup?

              It's 3.5 " from (between Mid & Ribbon) , recommended ear height of Monitor Statement

                Gotcha!

                If it's in monitor form then it should be easy to angle the box a little bit. I guess I would recommend playing around with it and try to hear a difference, should be easy enough to use shims or something, 1.5 degrees isn't much!

                What sort of stands are you using? Could they be modified?
