Clarity Cap MR

Very nice capacitor. I just put one (in each channel) in my tweeter crossover (simple third order electrical) in place of a Mundorf Silver/Gold/Oil. Ahhhhhh.....THAT's what I was missing!!! And it's less expensive to boot. :banana: While I can imagine the system/tweeter/person that might prefer the Mundorf, I think the Clarity Cap is more neutral.

surprising that it could substitute mundorf silver/oil. for even a cheaper alternative, you might wanna give epcos oil filled motor run caps a try...

I'm not a past user of the Mundorf Silver/oil caps, so I can't comment to that.

If you're interested in more information about the Clarity MR, I'd recommend reading the white paper- it used to be on Madisound, and I have it downloaded, but online the easiest way to get it may be on this page.

IMO, the MR is better overall. The S/O has softer dynamics and is less transparent. Where the MR's excel in comparison are better imaging, soundstage(spacial cues), transparency, and dynamics.

well now i am very happy with silver oil, i reach perferct balanced sound in my system.
i always be faschinated by claritycap MR.
i would give a chance to MR, but will they give me most pronunciated trebles, due the better transparency ?
i would don't have harsh trebles.
i like the liquidity and soft trebles of the silver oil, so with MR do this change ?

I wouldn't call the MR hash sounding, neutral would be a better description IMO. If it is harsh, it's due to what your other caps were hiding or colouring.

agreed. supreme does have that magic tone but it's also sluggish sounding.

well,
mr has more dynamic than mundorf...but mr in comparison to silver oil does have more pronuced mid-treble presentation or not ?
