    Cabinet Size for Pyle WL12160s

We have 2 old pairs of Pyle Pro Series woofers. 1 pair of WL12160 and 1 pair of WL870, both brand new in boxes in good condition (even the surrounds). Pyle in Brooklyn, NY has responded that they cannot help me since these speakers are old enough to be from the Huntington, Indiana plant. I am looking for the correct box size, either vented or closed or the Thiele Small parameters so that I can load the info into Bass Box Pro and design cabinets for them. Any help is appreciated.

    Blessings,
    Debb

that's going to be difficult. i installed many of these back in the day but that was around 15 years ago or more if these are the subs i'm thinking they are. i spent 20 min digging on the web and came up empty handed. maybe someone else can be more helpful.

    good luck

Thanks Loren - I'm hopeful someone out there still has the spec sheet because Pyle in Brooklyn (who bought Pyle from Indiana) certainly doesn't have anything on them. My web search brought me up empty as well.

Realistically the only way to have T/S data for the drivers is to measure them. The equipment to do that accurately will cost more than the drivers are worth.

Since these are car audio woofers (not subwoofers) their use for home audio would be limited to that of the woofer in a 3-way system.

As old as they are (manufactured between 1989-1992 ) my guess is they'll have a short throw, so ported would be the best (probably only) option, tuning the box to 35Hz or so will probably work.
