Stands for speakers.

Is there any kind of rule of thumb for speaker stands?
Like the base should be "X" amount larger than the speaker for stability.
The top should be the same size or slightly bigger than the speaker?
Its best to attach the speaker to the stand with?
The speakers are 15" wide and 10" deep. I was thinking the base should be like 15X15 is that ample or overkill?

I think you have to consider the weight and the height (and whether you have children running around pushing on and bumping into things). How high does the stand need to be to get the tweeters close to ear level?
