Firewire Solo Or Fast track pro

    Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade my current soundcard (M-Audio USB Pre) with something with more outputs (for crossover emulation) and that can do 24-bit/96kHz.

Which one would you choose : Firewire Solo or Fast Track Pro ? I'm currently using lspCAD and I'm considering SoundEasy in a near future.

    Any advice, recommandations?

    Thanks,
    Chuck

    Depends

You did not say what your computer restrictions are, if any. I have an M-Audio Firewire 410 that I bought on ebay. I use it with my laptop. I also have a 1010LT in one of my towers. They both work with SE. If you can use an internal card, I would pick the 1010LT.

    Regards

    Ray

Your right! I'm using a laptop so I need an external soundcard (I'd like to keep my setup mobile) and the phantom power.

      1010LT : WHOAA 8 ouputs! Now that's something!

      Thanks,
      Chuck

I have a Firewire Solo, but currently use a TC Konnekt 8; the equivalent in their current product line is the Impact Twin; has fairly decent Firewire interfere chip, used by Weiss and others; I'd suggest it for budget sonics.
