What did you have before the Full/Mini statements

Hi, im new to the forums. Im intrested in knowing what all you statement owners had before the statements. I my self havent build the statements yet,but am planning to 8) . I want to know to get some sort of inside on what they compare to. I would like to know if you came from something better sounding, equal or worst. This will help me and many others make our decision easier.

I my self currently have Polk Rti A9's with rti center and surrounds.

Dali Ikon 6, I would say the statements are better hands down although the Dalis are pretty dang good for what they cost.

Myself I had the PMC FB1+ surround setup. Statements are definately an improvement

Which Energy speakers did you have and how much better are the Statements? Which Statement did you build?

Full Statement Speaker (Love it, just the size is so huge)

Personally I never had any pro speakers yet.
Once my statements are done the only thing I can compare them to are my aunt's JBL XPL160's.
Too busy building my house and working these days though ... soon ...

If you see the thread about the FST driver in the drivers wanted forum you will see a few different measurements for the FST and then I compare my measurements with the apparent implementation in the 800D2. It is safe to say that B&Ws implementation is about as extreme as one school of thought will take you, so will no doubt lead to a specific type of sound. The statements on the other hand are quite different, both in terms of the control the crossover will bring, but also due to the WMTMW arrangement of drivers offering some control over vertical dispersion and possibly limiting ceiling and floor reflections. They have the potential to sound quite different.

What did you have before the Full/Mini statements

I am also looking to build the sealed version of the Statement.
These would replace my current speaker Axiom M80.
In the past; Boston Acoustics A150 (two pair).
Advent New Loudspeaker.

a pair of 27 year old pioneer tower speakers my dad gave me that he bought before my parents got married. for their age they sounded terrific, but they just don't compare to the mini-statements I'm running now (till I build the rest of them)

I use them half and half music home theater and without using a sub you don't miss much. Unless I'm going to turn it up I don't even bother turning the sub on, partially because I haven't done the fan mod on my behringer amp
