Dayton RS drivers. Screws or bolts?

I have just a couple of small things to get before I start my build. What size are generally used for the Dayton RS28A, RS150 and RS225?

Just looking at them I would think:

    RS28A - #8 Panhead screw
    RS150 - #8 Panhead screw
    RS225 - #10 bolt/t-nut

What have you used in the past? Where have you bought nice looking black hardware?

    Thanks!

I use black anodized panhead screws in those sizes, but I also am not taking the drivers out much once installed. Machine screws have great advantages, but watch out for t-nuts coming loose; then you can't get the driver out without damaging the box. I'd much prefer to fill a worn screw hole...

    Have fun,
    Frank

Drywall screws work well for driver mounting, especially the smaller ones.

I've never considered drywall screws. I'll have to take a look! Thanks Jon.

Frank, I know what you mean about a loose t-nut. I had one spin on me with my subwoofer.

Thanks Ray! That's exactly what I was looking for.

My search skills suck. I spent quite a while this morning looking for something like that and came up with nothing.

I use these type of things,

and love them. With the allen head there's also no chance of a screw driver slipping out of the screw head and smashing into the drivers cone!

Yes, I used those screws above, they are solid, and when driven in to LBL they are incredibly secure!

I'm not 100% sure where you're at, but madisound sell a good range of hex head screws

Free support for loudspeaker projects, sourcing OEM speaker building supplies, and passive crossover design. We sell raw speaker drivers (tweeters, woofers, subwoofer, midrange drivers, full range drivers), speaker kits, amplifiers, capacitors, resistors, and inductors.
