    Capacitor combination?

I am in the process of building my speakers, and I started to wonder about combining Capacitors to get a value.

    For example, i need 32uf. Right now i have a 30uf and a 2uf capacitor.

Is this fine? or should i do a 30uf and two 1uf?

Just want to make sure before i finish these puppys.

    Thanks

If it's in series with the tweeter, I would split the value in half and use two 16uf caps. If it's on a woofer shunt, zobel, etc...you're fine.

Everyone has opinions. Electrically, adding a 30+2 is fine. I would not hesitate to do this myself - and probably have. As Face points out, there may be small benefits to doing it his way. It isn't something I would loose sleep over.

Ok now you got my interested!

Why is it that a combination of a small and a big value of capacitors in the tweeter section matters and one in the woofer section doesn't?

By combining two dissimilar values in series with the tweeter I found that it has a negative effect on the soundstage and imaging.
