First Post. Need help with 3 way set up

Hello to all and happy new years!

I have been around building car audio setups for quite some time but when it comes to home audio its a whole different ball game to me. It looks simple enough but yet there is allot to do and plan out.

I have gone ahead and decided to build my own 3 way bookshelf speaker set up. So far I have purchased this:

I really need your input on box design and especially 3 way cross over design. Please let me know what you think. Will be grateful for your help. Thanks!

    Good morning,

As a new comer to the DIY speaker world you sound like I thought when I was getting started. So I don't put words into your mouth I'll say that I thought with a basic understanding of electronics (how hard can it be?) and a clear goal I could whip something up in a weekend.

After asking a few questions I learned that designing a crossover requires a great deal more than the basics and importantly to me, a degree of artistry that I lack despite my best efforts. In other words what this somewhat verbose post is saying, unless you have an EE, years of experience, or see Mensa members as dimwitted commoners, build a proven design, there hundreds of them out there and then you start tweaking for, well, pretty for ever. BTW, the folks here are extremely helpful and polite which may negate everything I have said.

Great post! It really does explain how I thought and the accompanying (SP) evolution.
