It's kind of like some of the events in SF, except in SF there's a more pluaristic spin on sexual orientation, I expect, than in Austin- though I realize Austin is the closest thing Texas has to SF. Not that I'm that big a fan of SF.

Jon, Austin is very liberal. AAMOF, I've always called it the San Francisco of Texas. Ultra-liberal ideas hatched in SF migrate to Austin.
Thomas, I took my GF to Carnaval 4 years ago - it was a hoot. Lots to LOOK at, but the music was fantastic! No way could you be still when the percussion band Sambaxe played.
I think that got Jon's attention. May have started another wave of immigration to Austin. Maybe I'd better delete that post :?

We just had some more updates on employment stats released- the Bay area had further total employment declines during 2003, and the only reason the official state unemployment numbers went down was because of the people leaving the area and no longer seeking jobs.

Basically, when you see unemployment numbers from the Fed and State governments, most of them are BS; the real employment numbers are still declining in many areas.

Yes, I think Austin is a great area, and if I could convince Infineon to employ me there, I'd give it more than a little consideration!

Well, Ingemar said he wouldn't want me that close to Sweden, Lex, so that plan fizzed out.

This week I'm going to Toronto to check that out.. (actually, just to see a customer). I have a friend scouting out New Zealand and Australia for me this month, so who knows, Lex, if she reports back encouragingly, no tellin! :rofl:

ThomasW is set on Vancouver Island, but he doens't want it on an exclusive basis, so maybe there's a chance there. I haven't been invited to work in headquarters recently (not the last 12 months), so that's not likely for now. :assimilate:

Good think I'm not in dire need of a witness relocation plan...

Meanwhile, I'd rather just get over my flu bug and concentrate on the Arvo Part's and Aragon Xmod... both coming along well, on those rare occasions I've got a little time off and not sick it bed! :throwup:
