    Statements and Statement Center Done!

It's taken me quite a while but the last couple weeks I really pushed to get these done.

A big thanks to FroDaddy for all his help and being so nice as to let me copy his modified version of his Statements.

They are almost identical to frodaddy's with the exception being they are rear ported and I used Transtint red mahogany for the sides. The bases are also slightly different.

    Early listening impressions are :T

    **UPDATE

Just finished up the Statement Monitors, now have a fully rounded out Statement series system . I'm pretty pleased with the way they turned out--and they sound amazing!

Very nice! Good job I have been contemplating getting some of that gloss black laminate for a couple of projects. Looks like you too had good success with it!

I love the look. You did a great job on the woodwork.

The pictures raise a question to the senior members of the board. Are the 45 degree bevels A OK, or barely street legal? Would you guys sign up or shy away?

                        I still wish I knew everthing I thought I knew when I was 16. Maybe I do, but I forgot. :P

How did you make the black piano paint? Looks so nice and great combo with Red Mahogany! What wood veneer is it? Did you veneer the baffle too or just MDF?

I took the CC pic without a flash and the color is definitely more true. Even so, they all look better in person

                                      I like them

I have some pretty thick carpet and I didn't want to rely on spikes to raise it off the floor.

All the black finish is laminate, not paint. The sides are baltic birch with birch edge banding for the exposed cut edges.

There should be no audible difference were the port is on the Statements. I located the port on the rear of mine, mainly because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for a base. Now I have options if I ever want to change the base on my Statements.

I did the calculations before I made the hole for the port. The wavelengths involved are over 9 feet long (if I remember correctly), so the location of the port can be anywere on the enclosure, and there will be no audible difference, unless the port is blocked by something.
