I'm going to build a HT system for my classroom and thought I'd run this by you guys for
your opinions.
The details:
600 sq. ft, concrete walls, carpet floor, 10' suspended ceiling.
Power will be a $300 ish 5.1 consumer grade receiver.
I have a passable sub, but realy don't need earth shaking bass.
I have a pair of Pioneer 8" full range speakers for rears.
I have about $600-$700 to spend for the LCR speakers. Total, not each.
I have to mount these on the wall. There is no space for any other way.
I know a 5" two-way would likely work, but I'd like some visual impact for the students.
Right now I'm thinking about going with the In-Khan-Neatos for the mains using the shallow box
as mentioned in the thread, but am unsure about the center. I don't really have the space
for a 3' tall box in the center position, so I wonder if the Khanspire center would work better,
but I'd have to build a shallower and longer box. But I don't see an on-wall crossover for that design.
Suggestions? Other designs?
Thanks.
