    Advise on WMTTMW passive filter

Hello to al the forums..long time reading everyday the DIY forum..it´s time for my first post..not finished yet but ready for testing is this 65 L. ported and time aligned speaker in WMTTMW configuration:

    The drivers:
    Woofers:http://www.europe-audio.com/document...a/8wooferp.pdf
    Midranges: http://www.madisound.com/pdf/vifa/p13mh-00-08e.pdf
Tweeters: From stock...no marks on it..but with similar specs like the Monacor DT-107 (89db)
l need yor opimions on passive filter design (parallel? series?), crossover points, etc.
P.D. all drivers are in parallel conecction.

    Looks nice.... :T

Post your in baffle measurements for all the drivers being used.

Having that information we'll be able to provide some guidance as to where to start designing your crossover.

BTW what design/simulation programs will you be using?

Thanks thomas for your reply...l used winisd and bassbox pro to calculate reflex tuning..l have lost the files with 3d drawins, But if it helps l can measure distances between drivers..ok?

Well..l use metric sistem but l´ll try to do do it in inches....
Distance between center of the woofers: 27 inches..
        Between mids: 12 inches..
        Between tweeters: 3 inches (aproximatly)
        Thanks again.

Thomas didn't mean your CAD drawing of the driver locations (baffle measurements), but the on baffle measurement of the SPL response of the drivers.

This is needed to consider where and how the drivers really should be filtered, what kind of target response to consider, and of course to develop the actual electrical filter that with your cabinet and drivers results in a smooth musical response.

The performance of the woofers and mids are both very much affected in their operating range by the shape and dimensions of the cabinet; the best way to understand that is to measure it- there are baffle dimension related changes in the transition region from 2 pi radiation to 4 pi volume radiation that are linked to the baffle size and driver mounting; this can be estimated a bit, but normally measured data is used on axis and off to determine the needed crossover filters with baffle step compensation.

You either purchase the needed measurement gear and learn to use it, or pay someone to do the measurements for you.

You got a lotta work in front of you, but it's a fun ride. No joke, you must have accurate measurements and crossover design capability. You either have to know it, learn it, or hire someone.

Parallel crossovers are much easier to work with than series crossovers.

Another hint once you start the crossover work...you may have to roll off the top octave (or so) of one or the other tweeter. Put a cap in parallel with one tweet if running it in series with the second tweeter, inductor in series with one if the tweeters are paralleled. Your design looks a lot like a Dynaudio clone and they roll off one of their tweeters, but I don't know whether their tweeters are series or parallel.

Paul...you are right..it´s inspired in Dynaudio_Confidence_C4...but in smaller size and differnt drivers,of course.
l´ll have it in mind your reccomendation.
