I purchased and built the Fountek RM6K kit last year and am a little disappointed since they are bass shy. They are fine when reinforced with a subwoofer but the room I have them in does not have room for a sub enclosure. Since these things are sitting on a speaker stand, I was wondering if I could build them in a tower and have the lower portion house a PE RS225-8 woofer. The woofers will be powered by the Zone2(Surround) of a Denon 3805 which will allow me level control. The Front Pre-Out signal from the receiver will feed the CD input which will be selected for Zone 2. I am thinking of installing a second order crossover at 200hz on the woofers. Good idea or bad idea? I am not using the receiver for surround but mainly for 2 channel Direct mode.
I am not even sure if you can call this a .5 reinforcement.
Thanks for your suggestions.
