AE Speakers OB12 or IB12

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these in an open baffle.

I only need them to play up to 120Hz.

any thoughts how they might compare to the Dayton RS315HF?

To power a driver such as the dayton, which has a much lower Q, you'll need gobs of power once you get down low. I'd go with the IB12 because IIRC it's significantly cheaper than the OB series.

I'm curious about these too. I believe the IB12 and OB12 are the same driver, just with weight removed on the OB12 which moves up the FS and efficiency.

The RS315HF seems to be the mid-priced bass driver of choice in dipoles these days, but the AE models are even cheaper with specs that may be better.

Meh, what the heck. I'll be the guinea pig.

AE have always made quality drivers and I was planning on swapping out my DPL12s anyway.

I've ordered four of the IB12s. Thought about the OB12s, but I don't really need the extra efficiency and would prefer more relaxed bass response for those times I run my speakers full range.

I figure for my application they'll be even better than the reportedly very good RS315HF.

Given the cost of shipping them to Australia, I hope I'm not wrong.
