Hmm, seems I can't get the links to work. Zaph has tested each of these drivers.
      I'll keep trying.

Is there a shiny cone motif happening here? :W

Seriously, have you ever looked at the Seas ER18RNX? Lower distortion, 1.5 dB more sensitive, lower price, and no metal cone breakup. Nicer CSD, too, down low, even apart from the metal cone break up stuff.

I have 4 L18's on hand and thought this would make good use of them without breaking the bank.

That makes sense- quite pragmatic. :T I should do that more often! The L18 has a deservedly good rep anyway- I didn't know you weren't starting from scratch.

Seems pretty reasonable to me! What to you have in mind for the crossover target function and slopes? Of course, my first recommendation would be a Duelund alignment or something similar- and if you chose to go higher order, I'd recommend nothing higher than a 3rd order on the MTM section, as this will give a much better vertical window.

I guess when it comes down to it, I'm just trying to find a use for these drivers. (L18RNXP) I built Zaph's all aluminum and it's the only design I can find which uses it. I thought there would be more designs for the L18, seeing it has been around for a while. Oh well.

                          Fountek

The Fountek seems to have low sensitivity. Have you considered the Dayton RS52?

The low sensitivity doesn't really matter because the woofers sens is going to end up being cut by a reasonable amount to counter bafflestep losses.

With the RS52 you'd need to double up on the bass drivers to match its sensitivity.
