Hookup Wiring Query

Sorry for this novice question, but I am one ops:

Is there any downside to using electrical tie straps to keep the wires neatly together inside an enclosure? I have some long-ish runs and I would need to secure various wires together. Does it matter if you put two conductors of different drivers close to one another like this?

As low impedance as the circuits are, and as little mutual inductance as exists running the wires together, you shouldn't notice any problems. Not the way you do if you run preamp signals strapped together with your AC power going to your power amp.

But then, as you might imagine, some of us here are pretty OCD about many things... :W

A good way to secure wires are chassis mount nylon clips with self adhesive (like double sided tape). tying the speaker leads to a frame strut isn't a bad idea, either.

You're not allowed to be neat! That sets a bad precedent for the rest of us. :P

The signal should be the same (frequency aside of course) - I suppose there could be some bleed but that's probably well below levels of distortion introduced by anything else. So I suspect it would be just fine.

Twisted pairs (+ and - of the same driver twisted together) should help if you're worried about it.
