There doesn't seem to be many 16 ohm drivers out there. Why?

Two words: solid state. My PHL 1240 midbasses are 16ohm, but I wire them in parallel. If you really need 16 ohm, look at the pro audio companies.- Bottom

Right now the easiest way to get 16 ohm speakers is to use dual voice coil speaker. Wire them in series for 16 ohms or in parallel for 4 ohms.
Dayton, as well as others, make DVC (Dual Voice Coil) speakers. You also find them in some speakers intended as Subs or woofers for use in a car.
