I was wondering if any of you have plans for building dipole surrounds?

You may not find much; they sound better on paper than in room.
Dipole/bipole speakers ought to have a broader radiation pattern that would give them a greater sense of spaciousness by spreading the sound pressure field being injected into the room. The problem is that our rooms are too small for room accoustics to provide spaciousness. Delay time requirements can only be met in the source audio, placed there by a skilled audio engineer. Reproduction only requires 5 equivalent channels to get the sensation equivalent to being surropunded by dozens of speakers. The data's out there. 5.1 surround was no accident, but it was developed using 5 identical, conventional speakers.
