    Least drivers for line array?

    Hello everybody!

My friends and I want to build a line array for each of us, without spending much money. We want good speakers, and the best way is to build ones with the least number of drivers that will work properly.

What number of midwoofers and tweeters is the least that can be used?

    $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
    Thanks

A true line array is as tall as the distance from the floor to the ceiling.

If you haven't done so read Jim Griffin's whitepaper

If you're wanting to do this on the cheap MCM has a special on 5 1/4" drivers ....

In their New Years flyer these are $59.95/18 drivers so double check with them before ordering.

If you want any reasonable output use 16 drivers (yes 16 that's not a typo) on each channel

      Thanks ThomasW!

We decided to buy a box, and build 3 MTMs instead. A lot more realistic, and we can save for the 200 speakers!
