Capacitor and Resistor values...

I am building Dennis Murphy's wmtw center and have a question on the capacitor and resistor total values. On the mid crossover bom there is a 7.5 and 50uF capacitor which need to equal 57.5uF. Also, there is 10 and 7 ohm resistor which need to equal 17 ohm.

I understand on capacitors that, when wired parallel, the value is the sum of each capacitor. Correct?

However, for the resistor, must they be wired in series to total the value?

Caps in parallel are like resistors in series - values add. This is a common trick for getting the more esoteric values some XO designs require.
