    You know you're a lazy DIY'er when...

...your idea of wood finishing is "sanding off the glue".

...your favorite speaker finish is MDF.

...your house is robbed, but you still have all your speakers and amps.

...you're moving, and you can't find a refrigerator box big enough for your sub.

...all your crossover wires are red, because it was cheaper to buy the single 500' spool of hookup wire.

    C'mon guys, add your own.

...your crossovers are spread on the floor, hooked together with clip leads.

      ^ Very true.

      From my own personal experience:

...you have actually desoldered components with a blowtorch because you couldn't find the big tip for the soldering iron.

This one is my favorite. It says so much!

        Anyway, I'll add one:

...there's nowhere in your room for people to sit down unless they move the drivers and crossover components off the cushions.
Isn't it about time we started answering rhetorical questions?

... your crossovers are built on carboard because you didn't feel like cutting up some pegboard.

... you've been listening to your speakers for over two months and still haven't put the foam in.

and most of all I have to echo Mark's first one:

... your pets have all run away because you can't be bothered to chase down that oscillation in your amp.
... the gear on your shelves in boxes is worth multiples of all the gear that is functional.
... your idea of WAF is having your own house next door to your wife.
... your idea of WAF is having your tools in a room other than the living room.
... you keep falling into the hole in the floor intended for your IB sub.
... you can't find the volume control under the rat's nest (ball of fur, etc).

The H.H. Scott 222C tube amp on your bench is 98% re-capped, AND you started the re-capping TWO years ago. AND, you have three more, including your own original Scott LK48-B kit version that you bought and built as a 16-year-old, AND two Scott tube tuners, AND you haven't even begun to re-cap all these others, all sitting on the closet shelf.

AND, months ago, you got a sweet deal on a Wilson Benesche Circle turntable with an RB300 Incognito re-wired arm, and you haven't even mounted the arm YET. :boohoo:

Please send me the prize money.

Don't MAKE me tell you about the cool Chinese tube power amps that I "plan" to modify. ops:

You epoxy your crossovers into your box cause you didn't feel like finding screws

You use a Sharpie to color in the corners of the cutouts for your drivers cause the paint pen you bought was too big and don't feel like going back to the store (it works though!)

You convince yourself that the speakers look way cooler without grills...so you don't have to build them.

You still have a towel hanging over the edge of your speaker because you haven't gotten around to making a roundover on the edge of the baffle

Because building grills are a waste of time, you buy quality, fine haired paintbrush from the hardware store and use it periodically dust off your drivers...
