Got a couple of these Audax HT300G0 at the tent sale:
(more detail here: )
And I was wondering if folks could discuss the effects of putting it in a too small box?
Fiddling with WinISD for a while I figured I might try ~163 liters enclosures - 16" wide x 32" high x 24" deep ported at ~ 28 Hz.
I'm not too familiar with "group delay" and I don't know how it affects the sound. The X-max is not too high for being 12" woofers @ +/- 8mm, but they're very efficient (for not being prosound drivers) and can handle a nice amount of power.
At $16 ea, I didn't think it would hurt to try these before spending the $ to buy RS270 drivers. I've liked Audax in the past.
Maybe I should design the speakers with some kind of adjustable vent so I could tune them a little higher when I want to play LOUD and a little low for more bass extension when I don't have the volume cranked up?
