Just wondering if anyone has seen this yet? Looks interesting.

I've never learned what an "Underhung design " meant or what the advantages were. Got any links to references?- Bottom

I have the distorsion and off-axis curves for the drivers in this series. I think it looks good but when I posted it in a Swedish DIY-forum most people where just whining about wrong dB scales and whatnot. Their loss, IMHO.

It does look like a nice set of drivers. Personally, I'd wait for independent measurements - they aren't exactly cheap. Also, I'm surprised that the 6.5 isn't more efficient given that it's a 4 ohm and has a paper cone. Lastly, it seems to me that the Le isn't all that low for a motor with a shorting ring.- Bottom

True. They do seem to be a good deal if the specs are accurate. I guess I was saying that they're more than I would plunk down without verified measurements. Same would go for the RS series (go ahead, call me skeptical).- Bottom

The low efficiency I assume comes from the long excursion. The specified number is +-, not peak-to-peak, just so you know. The Scan-Speak Illuminators has similar excursion and higher efficiency (IIRC) but that's a neodymium motor and the price is not remotely comparable. If the TBs had the same sized motor with neodymium they wouldn't cost $50.
I'll definetly build something with one of them, maybe a two-way with the eight inch and the Beryllium tweeter if it measures well.Emil Attlid

I would imagine so.... They just came out I believe? At the moment I only see the 6.5" although I have not looked for the smaller ones. I was wondering Jed, would the 5" fit in the statements or does it require to much volume? I have not tried to map them out with unibox yet been kind of busy.- Bottom

Do you mean the Maxx? If so I did look at the 5" and it requires a much larger volume than the W5 876. But the 4" would work as would the RS125-4 wired in series.

Yeah sorry I was a bit distracted sorry Even sealed off it would be to little space? They probably wouldn't offer more output but they are definitely built better. Probably not something I would do anyways just thoughts that pop into my mind.- Bottom
