no more wall mount linear power supplies?

Please excuse me that this is somewhat old news. I was wondering if anybody with a consumer electronics background might be able to tell me more about what this means:

I got an email from digikey saying I had ordered a power adapter in the past, and I better get stock now if I want one again, because they will not be manufactured soon. Are new standards making linear regulated wall mount adapters unavailable in the future? They sure are handy for electronics projects.

Looks like there are new standards. I doubt this will kill wall-warts, but they may get more expensive. Wall-warts are typically a subtle, but significant, power drain. They are usually pretty inefficient (part 1 of the new standard) and are subject to vampire power loss (part 2).
