    Sub ?

I recently decided to start building my own HT setup...I have decided to go with CJD's MTM for the fronts and center initially. I am going to be building the sealed versions because i am planning on building a sub as well. I currently have a 15 kicker xpl sub that i bought a few years ago, and all its doing is sitting in the garage. Specs from kicker recommend putting it in a 2.7cf sealed enclosure. More than likely I'll be paring this sub up with a crown amp from FleaBay. My question is....is this sub going to be able to perform in a HT enviroment, or should I not even bother with this sub?

It's impossible to answer your question without seeing the T/S parameters for the driver.

Well, since you already have it, it's worth building a box for and it will sound tons better than no sub at all. However, the 10mm Xmax means the output is going to be somewhat limited compared to the big boys. If you could sell it for a decent price, there are better drivers out there like the Tempest-X.

It may not perform with the best, but it will be fun to play with, and a
            good learning experience.

Throw it in a box, and add a M&K amp from Apexjr

The good part about a specific Sub amp is that it has filters built in, a
handy bass level adjust setting, and a phase adjust as well.
