    Active X/O

Are these devices difficult to set up and use?
    Thanks!

The analog units are quite easy to use, and almost useless since they can't provide baffle step, or allow changing the filter topology.

The digital ones like the DCX2496 are a bit on the tricky side to operate since they'll do everything but walk the dog.

It's important to understand that active devices don't eliminate the need for the end user to have a good understanding of crossover design theory....
