Possible line array? (W3-593SF)

PE is having a nice sale on these Tang Band W3-593SF drivers.
Checking out the Tang Band website, their frequency response doesn't look too bad for the price.

How does one go about designing a line array, or knowing what makes a good or bad driver for a line array? I was guessing you could put 16 in each array with a few 8" drivers for midbass duty and have a fairly innexpensive setup.

These aren't exactly good line array candidates. For line arrays you'll want a line of ribbon or planar tweeters handling anything above 3k, and then have 4"-5 1/4" woofers for the rest. Read Jim Griffin's paper on line arrays for more information on why that is (hint: comb filtering).
