    ScAR/SB Acoustic, new speaker company!

Found this thread over at the Madisound forum. Apparently the design team behind Scan-Speak have developed a new series of drivers. According to David Stephens they're going to be priced at a more affordable level than the SS-drivers.

    Good news! :T

Free support for loudspeaker projects, sourcing OEM speaker building supplies, and passive crossover design. We sell raw speaker drivers (tweeters, woofers, subwoofer, midrange drivers, full range drivers), speaker kits, amplifiers, capacitors, resistors, and inductors.

More drivers for MarkK and JohnKrutke to test! Whoooo Hooooo!

Will be very interesting to see how this works out- how they position cost/performance, and what technologies they use. I hope this works out for them. It seems they're targeting DIY initially to get some word out there- I wonder what their strategies with OEM's will be, because that will determine their survival.

I think I read over at the PE board that Tymphany just bought out a large Asian manufacturer of drivers. The more the better IMO. When will Scan Speak go for some ceramic or titanium cones though?

Nice! I want to try those drivers.

Jed, I don't care what the cone material is, I just want to have the best sound .

Actually they bought a cabinet manufacturer. Looks like they will be providing OEM speakers complete with cabinets.
