Building my first crossover, and I've studied the inductor positioning do's and dont's, but does it matter which end of the inductor is "in" and which is "out"? They aren't labeled and this is my first time even working with an inductor (Still not really sure what they do even )

None of the components in a standard crossover are polarized.
Normally in a crossover ground is ground, the path to get there doesn't matter. There are occasionally some exceptions to this depending on the type and topology of the design.
