    Anybody used/tested the Seas W16NX?

In my copious free time ( ) I've had my eye on this new driver from seas. Just looking at the factory curves, it certainly has potential to be a good candidate from ~150hz to close to 2k.

Does anybody have any first-hand impressions of this unit?

    Thanks!

Rick Craig likes them. Said they compare favorably/= to his Accuton C82 IIRC.

It's a very good driver and featured in the latest Voice Coil magazine. I used it in a 3-way with a ribbon tweeter.

The new midwoofer for the Plutos seems to have a lot in common with the W16. Seems to have the same basket and surround but uses a dustcap. It will soon be available at Madisound according to SL.

Hmmh, is the new driver a Seas or Peerless?

It is a Seas driver developed for working in the Plutos.

Thanks Rick. In your experience what's the practical upper limit for this unit?

It's been tested in the latest issue of Voice Coil and Vance Dickason suggested 3.5K; however, I would suggest something lower than that because the breakup is at 5.5K.
