    Hi-vi d6g/D19td MT design?

Hey, I have recently acquired a pair of each of these drivers and am interested in building a pair of MT's for the computer.

Realistically, I am not looking for something to compete with the likes of an MT like the Modula, but since I got the parts so cheap I guess I'd like to make use of them. Sealed and ported are an option at this point since it appears that the D6g's do okay in small vented boxes (according to unibox).

Oh and if it makes more sense to just sell these drivers and choose something else do let me know. Thanks :T

If you plan on measuring them then yeah, try them out.

Yeah, measuring is not a problem (need a 9v for the spl meter to re-calibrate the ecm)

Plus, All of the materials are handy...with tons of left over MDF from the Rythmik project that i've been dying to use :B The suggested cabinet volume of 15L should fit nicely on the desk. Looking forward to completing this project... If it ever happens....:E

One thing I do like about the D6g is the bass it is capable of in such a small enclosure. The system will have no help from a sub, so if it can reach down to 50-60hz with any authority that would be perfect.

      Edit: "Vifa" D19Td tweeter.

Meh, the more research I do, the less successfull this project appears. The D19 needs a 2nd order filter around 5khz, while the D6g will get nowhere near 5khz... ops:

Considering the need for overlap in the crossover region, a reasonable maximum upper crossover point for the D6G is about 1 kHz. 500-800 Hz is better.

Really, it's possibly an good woofer for a three way, but not for a two way system.

That sounds good John. A compact pair of 3-ways for the PC would totally rock. I have no idea which mid to choose though.

The Dayton R52 mid looks like it could work well in this case.
