    broken speaker - re-attach magnet?

Hi, i dont know if this is the right place to post this, but you guys seem to know everything...
I had someone ship a POLK CS400 speaker to me and heard a loud clank inside and it turns out the magnet and shield came apart from the speaker. it looks like it is originally just glued on. is it possible for me to re-glue it to the speaker and have it sound the same? I'm assuming i would need some sort of special adhesive and it would need to be perfectly aligned.

    any help would be appreciated.

    thanks

    Epoxy is usually the 'glue'.

Yes the problem is keeping the voice coil aligned. It's tricky enough re-coning where there are no magnetic forces to deal with and one has shims for the spacing.

Since it's a obviously a "defective" driver will Polk replace it?

I would be concerned that voice coil damage already occurred here too.
