Anyone see his blog on Le(X)? Interesting. I like his ad hoc measurments. Do you guys think this sort of measurment would be valuable in choosing drivers? I think I may try this as another way to see how driver performs under real world use, ie actually moving. XBL2 type designs may show thier superiority here over others that aren't seen in typical tests. Or not. It would be interesting to see. Wish we could all afford a klippel...

If indeed this sort of measurment could be useful, what conditions or method should be used so that it is accurate and reliable?

linear Le(x) curve drivers seem to sound better to me. they measure better as well. the XBL2 designs have a lot of motor noise at higher excursions, so even if the Le curve is linear the effective xmax is reduced for hi fidelity use.

the klippel test tends to show that the XBL2 motors don't have as much excursion as claimed, although the curve is very flat.
